How to care for a sutra after wearing it
After the wearing period is over, the sutra should be disposed of in one of the following ways:
Bury it in moist soil
Burn the sutra
If burned, the ashes can be gently applied from the throat area (Vishuddhi) towards the heart area (Anahata)
